you would think so as any logical person might and Nvidia does advertise G-sync as working Seamlessly with SLi so who could blame you, but SLi + Gsync has huge performance issues for the past 2+ years. http://www.extremetech.com/extreme/279259-nvidia-gpu-performance-craters-when-g-sync-sli-are-used-together we still don't know if RTX using NVLink/SLi has the same problems

+chainsaw2010 G-Sync only works when the FPS is below the Frequency of the monitor. SLI Will probably push it over, especially if using a 4K60 monitor.

I wish you would make your frame time graphs a little easier on the eyes: (A) Zoom in on the 0ms - 15ms range, or even make it logarithmic? Include markers for 1/60, 1/144. (B) Make the graph line a little thinner, or some other way so that they don't overlap anymore and you can more easily make out the avg / 99% region by eyeballing it. (C) and maaaaybe show some actual average values and standard deviations? Other than that it's a great and helpful video!

Very cool information I'm on an Alienware Aurora r3 i7 2600k 4.1 overclock and I stuffed a GTX 970 into it to make it a little bit better but obviously, this system is very old I think I got it around 2011 or 2013 not sure so it about time to upgrade gonna have to buy a whole new system because the MB I have is not compatible with newer CPU's Or for that matter Windows 10 I'm still on Windows 7.

With the 9600k and 9900k reaching above 5GHz , why did you go off about intel lying about reaching 5GHz? I'm catching you in some contradictions. I didn't like you from the start but now I find out you tell lies. You've managed to piss me off.

Got a 3570k myself. With Steam, Origin, Spotify, Discord etc on, it just isn't enough. Destiny 2 instantly gets CPU-bottlenecked, and the game, according to windows, only gets about 80% of the CPU anyways. Same goes for Odyssey, in a real-world scenario it's a horrible experience.

You should do a benchmark test of the 2600K vs modern CPUs in Battlefield V. I see a lot of people complaining about their game performance using the i7 2x00{k} and I am pretty sure that it is the CPU that is holding everything back but a legit benchmark would allow me to either help them fix any issues or to link to them and tell them "here is proof that your CPU needs a upgrade for BFV".

I have still an I7-2600k built along with an EVGA 970 gpu and have no problem with any of the games i play in 1080p and still haven't found any reason to O/C it. The only question i have is what cpu would be the max for 1080p gaming since am not moving above that resolution in the near future. The reason that i ask is that my drawback ( for only one game ) is the 4G of gpu ram. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, my i5 4670 died and I was left with the decision extremely cheap new or buy used. Decided if I didn't have enough money to buy a reasonable build, especially legislating for new ram, I'd rather buy a used one of these. Actually, I'd become convinced that my i5 was hamstringing my system before it died, but googling PC geeks while looking at this, I think it might be to do with the thread limit you mentioned, because the behaviour is a lot like the Far Cry 5 description. And thinking back when 2600 got released, I remember nerds talking about this chip potentially being worthwhile long term, but I didn't understand why. I guess this might be proving them right now.

Yes the 2600k is showing its age at 1080p medium which no one plays at with a 1060/580 or better (or even a 970). At 1440p and up those margins would not even be worth the effort of an upgrade to most people especially when over 99 percent of them don't have a 2080 ti to force that bottleneck anyway.

Hey Steve @Gamers Nexus why is your test bench with Corsair LPX 16-18-18-36 RAM ?! You are basically handicapping all the Ryzen CPUs. I mean you very well know that tighter timings (including sub-timings) can give boost to Ryzen performance! Even if you don't want to tighten the sub-timings at least test with a quality B-Die Kit at CL14-14-14... A bit disappointing to see that from you! Unfortunately it stopped overclocking and I got the 2700x. Bought it for game development, 3D work, and code compilation. When I get my new GPUs (i.e 680, 780 Ti, 980 Ti, 1080 Ti and now my new 2080 Ti), I look at reviews, overclocking guides and such on youtube to make sure I get the max out of my nVidia product and also my CPUs (last ones were i7 920, 2600k and 6700k). One thing is always a constant. Haters always trying to make it look like people like myself who spend a lot of money are stupid for spending money on nVidia or Intel when you can get AMD for cheaper. Get an AMD GPU they say. It's cheaper. The reason why I NEVER go AMD is @7:50 . Once you want a certain level of gaming and you can afford it AMD is out of the picture. I rather spend $1,300 on a GPU that gives me 50 FPS in 4k than one that give me 15 FPS and costs $200.
