A bit of advice, if you test with one stick of RAM then also put that stick in different sockets. If the socket is defect... It doesn't happen much but it does happen, I have seen it.

This might be a Longshot. I have a gb ab350 gaming 3. Had a problem very similar to your. Come to find out if you hold the reset button and power button at the same time it reflashes the bios. Only happens when the power goes out or is interrupted, at no other time does this happen. Maybe this would work for you.

My first Ryzen build was on a Gigabyte motherboard. The 3000MHz RAM I chose was on Gigabytes compatibility list for the AB350 Gaming 3 but it wouldnt run at anything beyond 2133Mhz. Swapped it for an Asus motherboard, no problems since and it can overclock to 3200MHz. In 2018, ASrock are more dependable than Gigabyte. Let that sink in lol

LEK7686

I also had the exact same thing with an AB350N Gigabyte ITX board that simply stopped working after a fortnight of use a couple of months back. Simply replaced it with the ASRock variant of the board and booted straight up upon first try, and overall performs better & still working exactly as it should as I'm typing now. This has pretty much cemented the fact I won't be going for Gigabyte again when it comes to building a new rig - this and also due to the fact of the recent VRM issues that have been well documented.

If the keyboard and mouse are off when the PC is also off then I would check the 5 Volt standby rail on the motherboard, also you can get a plug in POST card to help trouble shooting.

Vor 3 Tage

+diwiak Yeah, well heard good things and bad things of all those companies. It depends on the product line. GIgabyte had some poor motherboard launches regarding 100, 200 (and 300?) seriers Motherboards.. Even with Asus or MSI not everything is always great. Sadly. Back in the days I even replaced a B75 Asus Motherboard for that Z77 Gigabyte Motherboard. Well using these days a Asus Crosshair VII X470. Will not complain.

Vor Tag
diwiak

+Koeras ofc, dont take it that seriously, I just have few GB mainboards and it was all broken. but thats ages ago. if for AMD, I would stick with ASUS or chepaer MSI, absolutely no problems with them, nice Bios.

Vor Tag
Koeras
Koeras

+diwiak I doubt that. Well any big company has a few percentage of broken parts. It happens. I also tend to be unlucky. I mean damn, the Ryzen 2700X chip I bought a few months ago was broken. Had to get a new one through RMA. Though I would usually avoid ultra cheap components. And its always good to watch proper reviews. I had a GTX 770 from gigabyte though. With the Windforce cooler. That thing wasn't great. The fans were cheap. And it died after 4 years of use.

I had a similar issue with my threadripper 1950x. unfortunately I've never built a computer so I had to go through every troubleshooting step painfully slow. Eventually I figured out it was my motherboard. after replacing the motherboard and getting the computer back from cyberpower the CPU Cooler was mysteriously dead. Had to send it back out to them and get it back and my case was all cracked up. Cyberpower sent me some case parts and my computer is back up and running LOL.

And this is why i never buy Gigabyte hardware. Aside from their craptacular BIOS layouts, i have RMA'd more Gigabyte hardware through my shop, than any other brand. Consiquently, i have also been DENIED by Gigabyte's RMA department more than any other brand as well. And as such, i havent used their products in the last 4 years, unless absolutely specified by a customer, and i warm them of the issues we have had. MSi sits ion a close second, unfortunately.

+EposVox Guess I missed the CMOS part of your video, sorry. Did you confirm that the reset actually happened? Some motherboards can get stuck in the boot loop and using a jumper wont work. But removing the battery and do the same thing with a screwdriver (or the jumper ofc) is a 99.99% thing that always clear the CMOS. Did you guys test your RAM's one by one? Thats also a very regular problem that behaves like this. And for some reason, just changing the order of the RAM can solve the problem.

I miss the days when the speaker was on the motherboard or at least included with the case like they used to be. I also miss the days of removable mobo trays and back planes. You could mount your board, CPU heatsink (they were MUCH smaller back then), and add-in cards before sliding it into the case and connecting the drives and PSU. Made testing your stuff before buttoning things up (or even after it had been finished) much easier since for all intents and purposes it had a built-in test bench. lol Don't get me wrong, I love the design of today's cases, but some things were easier in the older ones. I think the biggest thing I miss is that easily removable slide out motherboard tray and back plane... but I wouldn't trade my Meshify C for one. ;)

Aside from getting a really shitty motherboard in the first place, you have probably run afoul of what is known as "Infant Mortality Syndrome" with regard to computer components. The lifespan of computer components follows what is known as "The Bathtub Curve" whereby components will fail in the first few days of use, and then the rate of failure drops dramatically only to rise again slowly after a long period of time In case you or anyone else thinks that I am just making shit up, you can look at the following article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bathtub_curve So with computer components, failure is more likely to occur when it is new than when it has been in use for a longer period of time. But seriously dude, think of getting a better Mobo the next time.

I built 2 PCs with MSI B350 Tomahawks with Ryzen 5 1600s for friends wanting to get into PC gaming both are still working well. Every user has differing experiences with motherboard makers but to me Gigabyte is a terrible board maker having witnessed and troubleshooted 3 boards going out from my peers running the gambit of things from clearing cmos, removing batteries & all SATA/USB connections to Swapping RAM, Video cards, and CPUs. Am thankful in each case the CPUs and ram chips were salvageable from all 3 systems as well as the rest of the components so cost to repair was pretty low. I totally get your frustrations replacing a motherboard sucks because its not an upgrade you're working toward, but rather restoring functionality previously enjoyed.

Sorry for the wife, really hoped she had her new pc and call it a day, we couldn't see much inside the case is dark in the video but a few months back I fried my psu and mboard because of a Chinese case with no stand off that was shorting pc parts for more than a year, glad you sort it out.

just before watching the video, i bet it was the ram. I heard at launch rgb ram on ryzen had problems that end up killing ram dimms. Edit: turns out its the mb, i was wrong. Good thing its fixed (kinda).

Christ. This guy has the video production values of a Toaster...

"This guy" was focused on a rushed last minute troubleshooting/PC repair job and less on the lighting setup of vlogging it. For my other cameras, the existing lighting was more than enough, but for the 6D Mk II, it keeps way under-exposing everything so I won't be using it for video anymore. If you watched literally any of my other videos you know I actually put a lot of work into production value, so maybe get over yourself "The Master."

I had the exact same problem. My PC worked for exactly one day. I rebooted to UEFI from Windows repair and it won't POST. I sent the motherboard to MSI store and waiting for a replacement.

It's safe to say that the heatsink squashed it to death. Weight + heat over solder = dry joints.

You know man. I have motherboard die before. Its exactly the same problem. No post after switching all the component. And after the fact I know my motherboard die because of low tier psu. Using fsp raider ra 550. And that moment the first time I noticed that psu have some tiers. From very reliable to very crappy one.
