fantastic build for the price, though it physically hurts me to see Matx boards in full atx cases. why would you want a bigger and heavier case for no benefit and added space taken up on your desk?

I wanted some cheap ass budget build and now after 4 months when I bought last part I ended up with 4770k @ 4.5GHz overclock, 16gb ddr3 2400mhz, RX570 8gb, Asus Maximus VI Hero.. And now I see this video that it's actually recommended 1080p build. Feels good.

Slowly investigating buying my parts, not that I'm into gaming but like I have if you buy an Nvidia graphics card and you want smooth picture I.e. no tearing you need too buy a G-Sync monitor which the G-sync technology does not work with AMD GPUs and these monitors cost $200 more over the monitors AMDs equivalent technology called FreeSync, that's terrible 👎👎👎👎👎

This is basically the build I just created except I got a Ryzen 7 1700x for $150 and the MSI RX 570 only cost me like $130 after the rebate. Also used 16gb of 3000Mhz ram for $97.

Even if you leave the case aside (if this is a budget build why buy something so expensive for a case?) wouldn't it be better to get a slightly cheaper B450 motherboard like an Asrock one that you guys praised in one of your other videos and get a 1060 GTX or RX 580 instead? If you're gaming the GPU draws most of the load.. beyond flumoxed with this video..

Hi guys, I'm currently gaming on an MSI B150A Gaming with 16Gb of 2133Mhz DDR4 RAM, MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X 6Gb and an i3 6100. Would you recommend going for an i7 6700K/7700K (@stock as motherboard is B150), or just plain changing to the motherboard and CPU used in this video (a B450 and Ryzen 5 2600)? Thanks!

I mean most gamers wouldn't put a heavy oc on this if even oc at all, so a cheaper board would work just fine for most (even msi's own 80 dollar b450 boards) and the case is overkill for bang for the buck, you could easily get away with a 50 dollar case (focus g, masterbox, ect) this would drop the price by about 60 dollars which is about 8% or it could be used to get a bigger ssd or even a new mouse. Remember consoles and oem pcs are just ugly black boxes that barely function and they sell a lot better than any self built or custom built pc, so real gamers put fps per dollar and longevity over any form of style points

$50 for a 240GB SATA SSD is overpriced nowadays unless you require the RGB for extra FPS. I got a new HP nvme m.2 240GB SSD for $40. Also you can find better PSU deals than that. Great part selection though!

Now, how bad would it be if I went with a 2400G and its onboard gpu? With Brazil prices I'm looking at R$3500 for the 2400g and R$4600 for the 2600+RX570 ( or R$4100 if I decide to go with only 8gb of memory) I'm guessing I would be playing below 1080p with it but would it allow for future upgrades or would I need later to upgrade both the cpu and gpu?

RGB RAM has no place in "budget" system if it will eat some dollars (or whatever is your currency where you live). Also, there are 50$ computer cases that are good enough quality, so there you get more money saved. Also not sure about 100$ motherboard...in my build I would go for more SSD storage (difference 250Gb > 500Gb is about 30$, just about what you save on the case and RGB Ram). More SSD storage means more games on fast disk and this is gaming build, right? RGB or case will not make up for slower load or performance.

Great video, but I have one minor disagreement: If you close out all your applications, prior to gaming, you will see less than a 00.5% increase in performance, using 8 or 16 gigs of RAM. Just close out all other applications (besides voice-over/discord) and 8-Gigs will be MORE than enough. Sure, in 3-4-5 years, some games might start to utilize more than 8 Gigs of RAM, but cross that bridge when it comes, ya know?

Can you guys do a video on the lack of uniformity in rgb lighting? Example: rgb newbies like me trying to make sense of having 5v rgb fan connectors but only finding 12v on the mobo? Makes it really frustrating for people who don’t know how to hook up rgb. Was recommended to me to just use a controller. Can’t find much in the way of videos explaining how to tackle this

Vor 6 Tage

Excellent PC components choice, Tim. RGBs will definitively be more costly for its implementation on components, but I understand that some budget-conscious buyers would still like to accommodate the extra cost. Not everyone has to agree on every components on this build, as the beauty of PC building is the ability to customize each parts to your needs, preferences and budget. Looking forward to more Hardware Unboxed contents.

Very poor choice of a case and SSD. Could have gotten the Meshify C Mini or Define C Mini for that price, much better cases. And for just $10-20 more you could have gotten a 500GB SSD, anyone buying a 250GB SSD nowadays is stupid, 500GB is the new minimum. Also, could have just spent $30-40 more for a 580.

How much difference is it between a 4GB and 8G 570 or 580 if you're only gonna play at 1080p? Does 8GB improve performance over 4GB or is it only necessary for higher resolutions? I'm looking to save some money and the 4GB versions cost around 35% less than the 8GB versions in my neck of the woods.

I dont like to complain but Like NONE of this stuff is the price you say in the video. I know what you are going to say well it was for 10 minutes when we bought it. You should use Parts and prices that people can actually get. Not one time for 1 hour you could have gotten this for 50 less than normal price. I understand prices change but this is misleading people into thinking they can get 16gbs of RGB ram at for 100 bucks.. That was a special deal that lasted like 20 minutes.

Vor 6 Tage

There is serious room for improvement on this system by ditching the aesthetics for performance which I think people in this price range care WAY MORE ABOUT!!!!! Ditch the fancy case for a 30 dollar special, upgrade the SSD to a non rgb 500gb at same price, replace rx 570 for 1060 3gb or rx580 with case money, replace rgb ram for cheaper same speed stuff +10-20 bucks and use those savings on an oem cd key for windows

I'd say you need an additional hard drive in that, with newer games clocking in at 60 gig+, and the 2 bundled games with the 570 probably being around 1/3rd of the total drive space, that little space will be an issue from the start, not the get go.... ugh, I hate that I even used that phrase even to make a point. - had to edit because i typed 470 like a stooge.
